村名因地处钱塘江沿岸而来。[1]

村离杭州萧山国际机场约2.5公里，离浙江（中国）花木城约3.5公里。村内有两条道路交叉穿境。[1]

经济[edit]

农业以种植花卉苗木为主，村内工业企业以金属家具、五金紧固件和蜂窝纸制品为主，其中金属家具与五金紧固件专供出口。[2]

文化[edit]

2005年以后，村陆续获得浙江省与杭州市全面小康建设示范村的命名，区级层面还有文明、卫生、文化、生态等村的称号。[2]

沿江村于2023年3月获认定，系2022年度的「浙江省善治村」。[1]
