前塘社区位于新塘街道东南部，由原前塘村转制而来。社区南侧以西小江为界，与绍兴隔江相望。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

2005年5月26日，前塘村转制为前塘社区，辖桥南、桥里两个自然村，共12个居民小组。[1]

现状[edit]

社区境内有新螺路、03省道东复线，杭甬与杭长两条客运高速铁路也由此经过。辖区内有20多家工业企业，主要从事羽绒服饰、水轮发电机组、通信电缆、钢结构和绗缝绣花等行业。[1][3]
