五堡社区位于彭埠街道东南部，南面临钱塘江，东面靠六堡社区，西面挨云峰社区，北面以明月桥路、艮山东路为界。社区划为12个居民小组，有常住居民920户、共4095人，登记在册的外来人口达4万余人。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

此地地名取自钱塘江古海塘上的堡站。据百度百科所载，古海塘从江干三廊庙一带起，直到海宁为止，沿线每隔三里设一堡，至此处为第五堡。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1984年改称五堡行政村。2007年，村改为社区，称五堡社区。[1]社区原为城中村。[2]

地理环境[edit]

辖区内有艮山东路和杭海路两条主干道，支线道路五十余条。社区新建大小简易停车场13处，另有两座大型收费停车场。[1]
