地名[edit]
海潮路以望江门外的海潮寺得名。据民国《杭州府志》所引记载，该寺明万历年间建寺并赐额，不久即废，清嘉庆初重建。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
1954年，此地设立上灰团巷和大通桥两个居民区，并设海潮新村第一居民区；2000年，这三个居民区合并为海潮社区。[2]
社区原属望江街道，2003年5月划归紫阳街道。[1]
