地名由来[edit]
村子原分称向东、曙光、田心三个大队。1961年冬，三个大队为化解辖内群众之间的矛盾与纠纷，共同商定以横水河为名，统称横水大队。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1980年至1986年间，横水村属横水区公所。1987年改设横水乡，1990年更名为横水管理区，1998年取消管理区，改设横水村民委员会。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
内莞桥位于横水村，为明代古建筑，1985年4月公布为县级文物保护单位。[2]
荣誉[edit]
横水村于2020年8月入选广东省农业农村厅首批公布的「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，产业为三华李。[1] 河源市文明委在2021年1月授予横水村「2020年度河源市文明村」称号；2023年5月，获广东省爱卫会授予「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
