水墩社区是紫金县水墩镇的镇中心区，镇政府和水墩圩所在。名称来自黄田水与秋溪水在圩边交汇、河心有石墩的说法。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
社区的前身是水墩大队，先在龙窝公社名下（1958年），三年后随水墩公社另立。后来经乡、村委会、管理区几次改称，到1999年撤管理区时，圩镇的第一、第二居民小组从水墩村划出，组成居民委员会。[1]
