1958年由三个初级合作社组成大队，故名三社。[1]

全村辖15个村民小组，在册397户、2036人，总面积7平方公里，耕地700亩；特色收入有齐橙、青榄，上一年农村经济总收入550万元。[1]2019年9月，三社村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
