排塘大队设于大跃进的1958年，次年被划入化州县的示范农场，到1962年体制下放时才脱离农场，同玉山、甘塘两个大队合并，辖区变大，下有11条自然村和16个生产队。1989年改称管理区，1999年起由排塘村民委员会管理，沿用至今。[1]
