社区的前身是海滨三路居委会，2000年4月经开发区管委会同意设立；到2002年4月20日改称明哲社区居委会，此后名称未变[1]。2008年观海社区从它分出[2]。
荣誉[edit]
- 2019年9月，列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单[1]
