名称与历史沿革[edit]
据说古时村里有一大片园地种植荖叶，故名荖园。清代以前属福建诏安县云澳区，1914年归广东省南澳县第三区；1952年为第二区青澳乡荖园村。1986年属云澳镇，1989年称管理区，1998年复称村委会。2004年为调整村委规模，荖园与东澳合并成东园村委会（维基百科所列的「东园村」即此）；2017年东园村民委员会撤销，两村重新分开，荖园村民委员会沿用至今。[1][2]

博雅地名网所载村简介称，全村20个村民小组、2027人，山地3850亩，农用地约257亩，淡水养殖83亩；2009年总产值约2101万元，集体收入约49.5万元，人均收入2500元。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
云盖寺原名三宝寺，宋代创建，明代重修时改用今名，是南澳岛最早的丛林，「古寺晴云」曾为南澳八景之一。[3]
