北中村是汕头市龙湖区新溪街道下辖的行政村，村名的意思是它位于新溪地域的北部居中处[1]。村里分8个自然村，人口超过1万，在街道各村中最多[2]。2026年1月，北中村入选广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
北中一带宋代归揭阳县蓬洲都，1563年澄海建县后划归澄海。中华人民共和国成立后先后设北中乡、北中生产大队和北中管理区，1999年成立村民委员会；2003年随新溪镇划入龙湖区，2019年起属新溪街道[3]。
地理环境[edit]
汕头机场在村北，金新路从村西经过，通向外面，离324国道约2公里[2]。它辖下的自然村有港堀、十八户、南皇、张厝弼，以及上牛埔、下牛埔、学埔和田塭[2]。
经济[edit]
村情材料中的数字是：耕地2336亩，约一半以上是水田；2009年农业总产值3386万元，工业总产值26241万元，集体经济收入近200万元。村旁有新溪金源工业区，企业做机械、服装、印刷、腌制品、工艺品和玩具，另有规模较小的企业及个体工厂90家[2]。村里的北中学校就是新溪镇中心小学[2]。
北中村列入2022年淘宝村名单[1]。《中国城市报》2026年1月报道，村里的农民合作社党支部把7家合作社的600多亩土地合并经营，年产值320万元[4]。
