下栅社区是珠海市香洲区唐家湾镇下辖的社区。「下栅」与上栅成对出现，名字的来历有海防设栅和盐场编户两种说法；下栅是2017年获批的《珠海市唐家湾历史文化名镇保护规划》划定的5处历史风貌区之一。[1][2]
地名由来[edit]
博雅地名网记录了两种解释。其一，清康熙年间实行海禁迁界，唐家湾沿岸架设木栅作防御，「栅」即栅栏；又传郑成功收复台湾时封海设栅，栅栏上段为上栅、下段为下栅。其二，明代香山盐场把灶户（煮盐人家）分作上、下两栅，「栅」的本地读音近「册」，含有登记户籍的册籍之意。[1]
历史风貌区与沿革[edit]
保护规划在镇内划出外沙、上栅、下栅、官塘、那洲5处历史风貌保护区，面积合计71.66公顷。[2]1958年唐家与下栅合组前浪人民公社，1963年下栅、上栅两个公社合并为下栅人民公社，归唐家区管辖；1984年设香洲区后，下栅公社改为区公所，1987年4月撤区公所，原下栅辖地设金鼎镇。[3]
