历史沿革[edit]
清代，南沙湾村隶属香山县；1925年县名改作中山县，村随之划入第五区。珠海县在1953年成立，村归其管，1957年1月起由前山乡管辖。[2] 1984年6月香洲区成立，村属该区；1987年至2000年隶前山镇；2001年撤镇设街道，村改为居，设南沙湾居委会。[2]
居委会辖区北与西两面与中山市交界，南至前山水道，东至翠屏路和南屏大桥一带。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
南沙湾遗址位于扯旗山与梅花山之间的大沙丘上，发现于1984年，五年后做了96平方米的发掘，文化层最深处1.35米。[3] 陶器多为夹砂陶，器形有釜、罐、钵、豆、碗，纹饰以绳纹、篮纹、曲折纹为主；石器则有斧、锛、网坠。[3]
