名称与沿革[edit]
因处在原龙岗镇的东边而得名。[3] 龙东在1955年第一次办起农业高级社，叫曙光社；到1958年公社化时，宝安县管辖此地，新成立的龙东大队归龙岗公社领导。[2] 2010年1月14日，龙东以深汕公路为界分设龙东、龙新两个社区。[1]

11个居民小组依次是源盛、上井、吓井（两组）、三和（两组）、新大坑、石湖龙和大埔（三组）。[1] 辖区工业区15个，工商企业685家，中小学5所，幼儿园8所。[1]
大田世居[edit]
大田世居又称大田围，在陈源盛村，清道光五年（1825年）由陈元章的三子联光公所建，整体是三堂二横一围、四角楼、伸手屋的结构。[4] 它在2012年被列为龙岗区不可移动文物；2018年区里投入四千多万元修缮，2019年验收；2020年7月起，围内的木作博物馆开放，称「大田匠作文化村」。[4] 2023年4月，它入选广东省的文物古迹活化利用典型案例。[4] 社区介绍还提到它获评「全国文化遗产旅游百强案例」，连续3年是文博会分会场。[1]
荣誉[edit]
社区以文化参与基层治理的做法，在2024年被选为全国社会工作创新发展大会的典型案例，题为《三文治理》。[1]
