博雅地名网记载，社区居民约1950户、8250人，辖区内有黄船幼儿园、黄船小学和黄船中学，并设有厂工会及职工活动场所[1]。2026年1月，社区获认定为广州市2025年度的充分就业社区[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
黄埔造船厂所在的这一带，1845年起就有外国人开设的船坞。柯拜船坞由英国人约翰·柯拜创办，1861年其子用清政府的赔款扩建为4座，其中1862年建成的一座长167.64米，位于东征阵亡烈士纪念坊西侧约20米处；柯拜船坞旧址于2022年7月被公布为广东省文物保护单位[2]。
名胜古迹[edit]
社区内的文物多在造船厂内或其周边。柯拜船坞旧址是1845年的遗存，1999年7月列为广州市第五批文物保护单位；巴斯楼是清代建筑，2002年7月列入该市第六批保护名单。黄埔军校史迹散布于牛膀山一带，有中正楼遗址等。俗称巴斯山的小山岗上有琐罗亚斯德教教徒的墓地[1]。
