历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网所载，清代夏茅官道两侧原有一个自然村，后来迁到鹤边的云台浦，与鹤边合为一村，取「完整」之意，称元村。[1]员村原属新市镇，2002年7月新市镇撤销、嘉禾街道设立时成立居委会，2014年2月起归鹤龙街道。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
员村中街34号的陈氏宗祠建于明至清时期，列入白云区登记保护文物。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2022年11月，社区被认定为广州市2022年绿色社区；2024年11月被认定为广州市充分就业社区（村）。[1]
