历史沿革[edit]
望岗的黎氏族人称，先祖在南宋咸淳九年（1273年）因故离开南雄珠玑巷，先后在太和洞旗山脚、铜鼓岭居住，最后迁到望岗；“望岗”之名，据说是因村前远望可见七星岗[2]。聚居望岗的黎氏分为望南、望北两支，望南是其中一支[2]。
文化[edit]
社区内的君彦黎氏大宗祠又名永思堂，始建于清道光十七年（1837年），为三进格局，左侧紧邻洪圣古庙，右侧是龙祥黎公祠[2]。祠前立有碑石，纪念清末进士黎湛枝回乡认祖[2]。该祠被列入白云区第二批登记保护文物单位[3]。
祠堂和门前的风水塘一带，长期是村民日常活动的场所。2021年前后，这里连同周边拆除的旧幼儿园、危旧房和变电站用地，改建为望南公园，又称望南党建公园，面积约6000平方米，设计主题为“同堂”，由设计师孙虎主持，2021年11月投入使用[3]。
