棠涌社区在广州市白云区，由新市街道管辖，前身为棠涌村，始建于明末清初，最初写作塘涌[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
据地名资料，村旁曾有白云山下来的溪水冲成水潭，状如池塘，故称塘涌；新中国成立后写成棠涌[1]。建制上，先在1949年划入禺北办事处，1958年成为三元里公社的棠涌大队，1984年随公社撤销改设乡，1987年改称村委会，到2002年撤村改居，设居委会至今[1]。

在广州市2024年的认定中，该社区列入充分就业社区（村）[1]。
