历史沿革[edit]
琶洲西南居委会成立于2002年，即新滘镇改设琶洲街道的那一年，沿用至今。2021年11月，它被广州市住建部门定为当年的绿色社区。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
琶洲塔在新港东路琶洲塔公园内，原称海鳌塔，是八角形的砖塔，从外面看有9层，塔内实分17层，高50多米，塔基用红砂岩砌成。乡绅王学增等人为振兴科举而倡建，工程在1600年（明万历二十八年）完成，与赤岗塔、莲花塔并称广州三塔。[2][3]
当年琶洲还是江中洲渚，塔立在小山岗上，对进出广州的船只有导航作用，「琶洲砥柱」是清代「羊城八景」之一。[2][3]1963年3月，塔被列为广州市文物保护单位；1989年6月29日，广东省人民政府又将它列入第三批省级文物保护单位。[2][3]
塔旁原有海鳌寺和北帝宫，据维基百科所记，在文化大革命期间被拆毁。1992年起，塔经香港人士捐资并由政府拨款分三期修缮，1996年2月完工。[3]
