小新塘是广东省广州市天河区新塘街道的一处自然村（城中村），位于天河智慧城内：华观路以南，广深高速公路以北，凌塘村以东，科珠路以西。[1]
村名由来[edit]
相传元代时，村里有人修建礼源塘，水来自村界北面几里外的山中，可灌溉数千亩农田，其后又陆续修了上陂和大淋陂两个山塘。[1] 村民在村前新挖许多山塘，并把附近十几个山塘扩大挖深，连成一片30多亩的大水塘，成为村里的标志，后人称这个水塘为“小新塘”，村名由此而来。[1]
旧村改造[edit]
小新塘曾进行旧村改造。2019年4月的报道称，项目的首批700套回迁房已可入住。[1]
