牛湖是深圳市龙华区观澜街道牛湖社区的自然村，又称牛湖老村，旧称「牛湖子」「鳌湖」，在观澜街道东部。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村落始建于清康熙四十五年（1706年），康熙到嘉庆年间邓、李、魏等姓迁入形成老村，后来陈姓另建牛湖新村。[1] 村子在20世纪90年代原地重建；清咸丰年间起有村民出洋，现今在香港的同胞约300人，海外华人华侨290人。[1]
人口民族[edit]
世居村民是客家人，2015年的户籍人口约600人，外来人口约7000人。[1]
文化[edit]
艺术家进驻是从2012年村里发起成立鳌湖艺术村开始的；2022年，村子被列入广东省文化和旅游特色村名录。[1]
