棠棣村的村名出自村委会驻地满植棠棣树的景象，并借《诗经》以兄弟比喻手足之情的意象，寓意村民亲密无间。2026年1月，该村获评「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年成立公社时，此地隶属加益公社。1961年此地划入扶合公社，成为其下的棠棣大队；1983年改为棠棣乡，归扶合区管辖。[2]

1986年改称棠棣村委会，1989年又改为管理区，1999年才恢复村委会之名。[2]

村中现有王、黄、余、农、张、甘、覃、谭、陈、韦共10姓，最大姓黄，占47%。[2]

经济[edit]

农业农村部于2019年9月认定棠棣村为「第九批全国一村一品示范村镇」，产业为南药。2020年8月，棠棣村列入首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单。[1]

2022年1月，棠棣村获广东省乡村振兴局认定，列为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位。[1]
