大石村的村名与一块巨大石头有关：村委驻地的自然村在建村时，入村路口有一块大石，于是取名大石寨，此名后来也用作行政村名。2024年4月，该村入选「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村」创建名单。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年公社化后，大石属加益公社扶合生产大队；1961年扶合公社从加益分出后，设立大石大队。1983年改为大石乡，归扶合区管辖；1986年改称大石村委会，1989年又改为管理区，1999年才恢复村委会之名。[2]

经济[edit]

广东省农业农村厅于2020年8月公布首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单，大石村名列其中，产业为南药。[1]

国家林业和草原局于2019年12月公布第二批「国家森林乡村」名单，大石村入选。[1]
