上赖村位于龙湾镇东侧。村名的来历与当地的岩石地貌有关：村委辖境内多处乱石裸露，取读音相近的“赖”字代替“癞”字，雅化为今名。2019年9月，该村上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年划入加益公社，设有上赖大队；1961年改属旗山公社，1963年两社合为扶合公社，大队名称未变。[2]

1983年改为上赖乡，归扶合区管辖；1986年改称上赖村民委员会，1989年又改为管理区，1999年才恢复上赖村委会的称谓。[2]

清朝乾隆三十年（1765年）时，此地属罗定直隶州三都镇的南乡。[2]
