沙底村因辖区山上流沙较多、村庄多建在山脚而得名。最早在此建村的是许氏始祖大祥，他于明万历初年从英德县迁到罗定州沙底云岭。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

许氏始祖大祥在明万历初年由英德县迁到罗定州沙底云岭，建立村落，是村内最早的村落。同一时期，张氏族人从泗纶七堆村分出一支，到云岭定居。今有许、张、欧、谭、曾、李、黄、俞8姓，许姓占40%。[1][2]

1958年公社化后隶属泗纶公社，并设高和生产大队。1961年，沙底从高和大队分出，设立大队；1983年设沙底乡，1986年改为村民委员会，1989年设管理区，1999年恢复村委会。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，沙底村入选2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2019年10月，沙底村被列入2019年广东省「卫生村」名录。2023年5月，沙底村的部分自然村获广东省爱卫会授予2022年广东省「卫生村」称号。[1]
