历史沿革[edit]
相传黎姓于清代中期迁来，先后选过六处都不理想，直到第七次迁居现址才安定，于是以「七记」为名。[1]
黎氏始祖文成公迁入定居，形成村中最早的村落，此后谭、郭两姓陆续迁入。现有黎、谭、郭等3姓，黎姓占70%。[1][2]
1958年公社化后设七记生产大队，隶属罗城公社，不久改归素龙公社；1961年划归新设的生江公社。1983年撤大队设乡，归生江区管辖；1986年，乡一级改为村民委员会；1989年改设管理区。[2]
2019年9月，七记村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2022年10月，七记村被广东省农业农村厅确定为「2022年广东省一村一品一镇一业专业村」，主导产业为辣椒。[1]
