夜护村位于榃滨镇西南面，村名与明代设立的夜护所城有关。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

夜护所城于明万历十七年（1589年）在此建立，驻有把总1员及150名兵丁，把守两广边境。夜护之名由此而来，之后便成为片村和行政村的名称。[1]

1958年，此地归榃滨公社的夜护生产大队。1983年改设夜护乡，隶属榃滨区；1986年改为村委会，1989年一度设管理区，1999年恢复村委会名称。[2]

1993年获认定为革命老区。[2]
