苹塘镇位于广东省云浮市罗定市东部，距罗定城区约25公里。镇域北面与郁南县河口镇相邻，东北接云安区的镇安、白石两镇，东南与金鸡镇为邻，西南连围底镇，西面接华石镇。原名萍塘，建圩时圩边有一口大塘，塘中多野生浮萍，后简称苹塘。[1][2]

境内属石灰岩地带，喀斯特峰林与稻田相映。龙龛岩摩崖石刻位于谈礼村，聚龙洞则是苹塘石山峰林风景区的核心景点之一。[4][1]

历史沿革[edit]

早在宋朝开宝六年（973年）到明万历四年（1576年）期间，此地隶属泷水县。其后自明万历五年（1577年）起，直至清宣统三年（1911年）为止，改由罗定州统辖。民国初年划为罗定第六区，1931年起编入第二区。[1][2]

新中国成立后行政区划几经变动：1950年归入罗定第六区，1955年改置苹塘区；1958年先设为乡，当年10月组建苹塘公社。1983年8月公社撤除、改为苹塘区，1986年11月区撤销，建立苹塘镇。[2]

地理环境[edit]

苹塘镇地处石灰岩地带，属干旱地区，喀斯特地貌典型，石峰林立，溶洞分布广泛。镇域东西跨度12公里，南北向宽7.4公里。境内碳酸钙的储藏量占全市的三分之二。[2]

镇内属亚热带季风气候，国道324线与春罗铁路穿过全镇。[1]

人口民族[edit]

第七次全国人口普查时，统计时点为2020年11月1日零时，常住人口28156人。另据2022年末的数字，户籍人口44913人。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

苹塘石山峰林风景区以聚龙洞和龙龛岩为核心景点，峰林与周边稻田相映，溶洞内钟乳石形态多样。景区开发了约15公里的环线徒步路线，曾获「中国美丽田园」称号。[4]

龙龛岩摩崖石刻位于谈礼村，2013年公布为第七批全国重点文物保护单位。[1]

镇内其他文物有墩仔村的聚龙洞与罗定鲤鱼桥，周沙村的周沙石拱桥，茶榕村的汶塘渡槽，道村的汶泉分水点，桐油村的嘉瑞龙公祠，良官村的良官五惇堂，以及大虾村的大虾双炮楼。各处的公布情况见各村条目。[3]

2024年1月，苹塘镇获云浮市卫生健康局授予「2023年云浮市卫生镇」称号。[2]

著名人物[edit]
