牛路村位于罗定市罗平镇。明代此地属泷水县一都，清代归罗定州一都的开阳乡。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

清末至民国，村地先后归罗定县第二区的团与乡管辖，1942年起归第三区的乡。1950年起隶属第四区的乡，1958年先组入乡片合作社。[2]

1961年6月设牛路生产大队，随后归公社管辖。1983年撤大队改设乡，1986年复为村民委员会，1989年改为管理区，1993年获评革命老区，1998年又恢复为村民委员会，至今未变。[2]

2026年1月，村获评「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」。[1]
