双莲村位于罗定市罗平镇。约在1450年前后有人在此落户建村，属泷水县四都。长岗坡渡槽的终点位于村内的天堂顶，渡槽管理所建于天堂顶半山。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

约在1450年前后有人落户建村，属泷水县四都；清代设双莲村，归罗定州四都建水乡管辖。[2]

民国时期，村地先后归罗定县第五区罗平团西北堡、第四区管辖，1942年起归第二区罗平乡。1950年5月起改隶第四区西北乡，1958年先并入罗平合作社，同年9月设双莲营，后改生产大队，归东风公社。1961年6月，这一大队分为两个生产大队，归罗平公社。[2]

1983年撤大队改设双莲乡，1986年复为村民委员会，1989年改为管理区，1998年又恢复为村民委员会，至今未变。[2]

2019年10月，村入选「2019年广东省卫生村」名录。2022年8月，村被确定为「2022年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；2022年11月，被确定为「2021年度全国综合减灾示范社区」。2024年4月，村入选「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村」创建名单。[1]
