围头村位于罗定市罗平镇，是本村委辖区内最早形成的村落所在。陈氏始祖冠光公于公元1368年迁居此地，其后李、彭、陈等姓相继迁入。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

公元1368年，陈氏始祖冠光公来此定居，此后李氏始祖国旋公、彭氏升公、陈氏勅公相继落户。明朝属泷水县四都。[2]

清代设围头村，隶属罗定州四都建水乡。清末至民国，隶属罗定县第五区罗平团北堡、第四区，1942年起归第二区罗平乡。[2]

1950年5月起隶属第四区东北（平围）乡，1958年并入罗平合作社；同年9月设围头营，1961年6月改组为生产大队，归罗平公社。1983年撤大队改设围头乡，1986年复为村民委员会，1989年改为管理区，1998年又恢复为村民委员会，至今未变。[2]

2019年10月，围头村入选「2019年广东省卫生村」名录。2023年5月，村辖区内的自然村获广东省爱卫会授予「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
