励志村是太平镇的行政村。南宋年间有人在此落户建村，起初归泷水县的太平里管辖；到明代，它已划入泷水县二都。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1909年，这里称荔枝根村，归罗定州二都顺仁乡管辖。1910年至1931年，村地归罗定县第三区太平团，分设荔枝、柳山等堡。[2]

1961年，村地分设励志、古柳两个生产大队，归太平公社；1974年两个大队合并为励志大队。1983年8月设励志乡，1986年11月改设励志村民委员会，1989年设管理区，1998年9月重设村委会，沿用至今。[2]
