洞美村是太平镇的行政村。明弘治三年（1490年）前后始建村，当时属泷水县二都。村名因村委会原设在垌尾村而来，垌与洞、尾与美在方言中读音相同，故有此名。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

清代设垌尾村，归罗定州二都顺仁乡。1910年至1931年改设垌尾堡，隶属罗定县第三区太平团；1931年至1937年设洞尾乡，辖8里。1937年撤乡设保，1942年至1950年隶属第三区太平乡。[2]

1961年起为太平公社下的洞美生产大队；1983年8月设洞美乡，1986年11月改设洞美村民委员会。1989年设洞美管理区，1998年9月撤管理区，重设村民委员会，沿用至今。[2]

文化[edit]

2019年9月，洞美村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；同年10月，又进了2019年广东省卫生村名录。[1]

2020年8月，洞美村以肉鸡产业进入首批「广东省一村一品一镇一业专业村」。[1]

洞美村下属25个自然村，于2023年5月获广东省爱卫会授予「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
