东区社区因位于罗城旧城东部而得名[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1953年民主建政时，此地称解放街。1971年设为东区居委会，1974年改称大队，隶属罗城公社，1983年又改回居委会[1]。1989年改为管理区，1993年起归罗定市罗城街道管辖；1998年复为居委会，2002年定名为社区居民委员会[1]。

文化[edit]

罗定烈士陵园位于东区与中区、区屋的交界处，1957年兴建，占地50亩。墓园内有民主革命时期以来在罗定牺牲的革命烈士合葬墓[1]。
