中区社区因位于罗城旧城中部而得名[1]。2019年9月，该社区列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位名单」[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1953年民主建政后，这里先分设太平、中华两街，不久并为中华街。1971年成立居委会，1974年改称大队，归罗城公社管辖[1]。1983年复为居委会；1989年曾改为管理区，隶属罗城镇，1993年起归罗定市罗城街道[1]。1998年，管理区取消，居委会名称得以恢复；2002年定名为社区居民委员会[1]。

文化[edit]

罗城天主堂神甫楼位于市府大院内，为长方形建筑，面积229平方米[1]。
