罗城街道位于罗定市中北部，市人民政府驻地就在其范围内，全市的政治、经济与文化活动也以此为中心[1][2]。这里自元代起即为泷水县治所在，明清以来是罗定州的治所，1939年起称罗城镇，2009年撤镇设街道[3][4]。街道内有明代的文塔、清代的罗定学宫和菁莪书院，以及数处省级和市级文物保护单位[5][9]。

历史沿革[edit]

元大德八年（1304年），泷水县治从开阳乡迁到建水乡羊禄埠，即今城区南平圩一带，此处建有衙署和学校，但尚无城池[4]。明正统十三年（1448年），为防备瑶民进攻，县署开始修筑土城[4]。城墙的修筑年份各书记载不同：博雅地名网称是明景泰五年（1454年），泷水知县周刚将县署迁到城区西北临江处，同年七月动工砌筑砖石城墙，次年二月竣工，城墙周长3000多米[4]；罗定州城墙的条目则记为始建于明景泰四年（1453年）[11]。

明万历五年（1577年）这一带划入罗定州在城一图。1935年改设附城镇，四年后即1939年改名罗城镇，“罗城”的称谓由此出现[1][3]。1950年4月改为区级镇。1958年9月，潭井、素龙、赤坭、双东诸乡与之合为罗城公社，1959年底公社的辖区缩小到原罗城镇的范围；1964年7月公社撤销，重新设立罗城镇[3][4]。2009年撤镇设街道[4]，2011年底全街道总面积为18.80平方千米[3]。

广东省在1991年认定罗定为首批历史文化名城，罗城即是这座名城的核心城区[3][1]。

地理环境[edit]

街道位于罗定红盆的底部，地貌为河岸低丘，罗定江是西江的一条支流，从城区旁流过[3]。气候属南亚热带季风气候[1]，无霜期346天，年平均气温22℃，年降水量1400毫米[3]。城区距罗定机场5公里，国道324线穿过城区[3]。

人口[edit]

2022年末户籍人口为102617人[1]。

经济[edit]

镇街工业始于20世纪六七十年代，以手工业社和农机修配站为基础。80年代后引进“三来一补”和“三资”企业，产品以服装、针织和毛纱为主，多数出口外销[3]。80年代以来，城郊农业以水稻、蔬菜和塘鱼为主，并发展出“罗定豆豉”“罗定皱纱鱼腐”等食品加工[3]。

社区[edit]

街道下辖的社区多以所在位置或旧地名得名。中区、东区、西区、南区、北区社区分别位于罗城旧城的中部、东部、西部、南部和北部[16][21][20][22][13]。石围社区得名于清代在此设立的石围堡，村子建在小山岗附近，村内住民皆姓谭[14]。细坑社区得名于辖区内一条小水溪，俗称水坑[15]。柑园社区原是城郊的柑桔园[17]。区屋社区以区屋村较大而闻名[23]。城东社区是新城东部的居民区，1991年由细坑管理区分出设立城东管理区[19]。

1998年9月，管理区一级取消，多数社区改回居民委员会；到2002年3月，又统一称为社区居民委员会[13][17]。

中区、西区、柑园、城东和北区五个社区在2019年9月列入2018年度「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位，区屋社区则在2020年12月列入当年的名单[16][20][24][19][13][23]。区屋社区还先后在2003年、2005年获「文明社区」称号，2008年获「广东省科普示范社区」和「全省民主法治示范社区」[18]。

名胜古迹[edit]

罗定文塔位于区屋塔中路，明万历三十九年（1611年）建，为八角形楼阁式砖塔，外观七层、内分十三层，高47米，塔顶等铁铸构件共7吨，檐角悬挂64个铜铃[9][12]。1985年罗定县公布为第一批文物保护单位，1989年广东省人民政府公布为第三批省级文物保护单位[9]。

罗定学宫位于北关里，清顺治四年（1647年）始建，是清代罗定直隶州的学宫，俗称文庙、孔庙。占地约8300平方米，有棂星门、大成殿、崇圣祠等建筑，具岭南建筑风格[6][5]。2002年列为广东省文物保护单位[6]。

菁莪书院位于道前街，清光绪十二年（1886年）建，为三进合院式建筑，俗称罗定印金局。书院初为教育董事会性质的会所，以田租资助学子应试[7]。2015年至2018年间经过全面修缮，2018年起对外免费开放；1985年列为罗定县文物保护单位，2002年列入广东省文物保护单位[7]。

三罗民众抗日指挥部旧址位于道前街，原为彭姓人集资修建的书院式家祠，清末民初建筑，纵三进，面积1088平方米[8][13]。1944年这里曾作为罗定、云浮、郁南（三罗）民众抗日指挥部，统率地方武装联防抗日[8]。2012年又列入第七批广东省文物保护单位，此前在1994年已被定为第二批罗定市文物保护单位[8]。

谭御史寿海公祠（谭御史祠）位于石围社区丽鸡岗顶，明正德年间（1506—1522年），这里由谭寿海故居改建而成。祠内中座大厅有谭寿海铜像，两侧墙上有明代壁画[10][14]。2022年7月23日，省政府把它列为第十批广东省文物保护单位[10]。

罗定州城墙位于北区社区北廓，始建于明景泰年间，原周长2.2公里，高5.3米，厚4.3米，开东、南、西三门，北面临江[11][13]。

西区社区南门头有南门头大夫第，清中期建筑，三路五进，又称老大夫第[5][20]。区屋社区有区氏将军宗祠，建于清嘉庆辛未（1811年），坐东向西，一路二进，硬山顶[23]。

罗定市博物馆位于文博街，1984年9月成立，2003年12月新馆开放。馆藏文物七千多件（套），其中一级文物2件[5]。
