佛路村驻地群山环绕，旧时只有一条道路，村名因“乏”与“佛”读音相近而定。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明万历五年（1577年），林氏始祖应通公自阳山县迁来定居，其后陈氏始祖陈祥公自翁源迁入建村。1760年，徐氏始祖秦兴自翁源迁入定居；清康熙八年（1669年），莫氏始祖贤锦公迁入居住。现有徐、林、陈、莫等姓，其中徐姓占35%。[2]
1979年设立佛路生产大队，1983年建佛路乡人民政府；1987年为佛路村民委员会，1989年以管理区取代，1999年恢复村民委员会建制。[2]
