东坝镇在广东省云浮市郁南县境东南，东邻云安县高村镇，南与宋桂镇相接，西侧隔南江与连滩镇相望，北边与南江口镇相接，镇域面积106.9平方千米。[1][2]境内山地居多。[2]东坝蚕茧为国家地理标志产品。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

“东坝”之名，据称因南江东岸一带有大片沙坝地，岸边又筑有防洪堤坝而来。[1]

东安县设于明万历五年（1577年），此地归晋康都管辖。入清后称粗石堡，民国时期为粗石乡，隶云浮县第四区；建国初又有东坝乡之称，仍属云浮县。[1]

1958年10月，此地并入与宋桂合编的惊天人民公社。1960年4月，它被划入罗定县；次年罗定、郁南分治，此地重归郁南，并在宋桂分出后成为东坝人民公社。1983年转为东坝区，1987年才改设为镇。[1]

东坝镇于2020年2月获「2019年度广东省卫生镇（县城）」称号；2021年9月，东坝镇凭借蚕桑被列入「第三批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业镇」。[1]

地理环境[edit]

适宜种植的作物有水稻、花生、木薯、桑、松等。境内有石灰石、白云石、铁矿石和磷矿石等矿产。[2]

经济[edit]

蚕桑是镇内经济的支柱之一，丝绵制品也是本地的重要出产。荔枝、龙眼、麻竹、橄榄等果木亦有种植基地。[2]
