宁波村是宋桂镇的行政村，村名的由来是驻地以坡地为主，建村时寄望安宁，故取此名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年，此地编入惊天人民公社，成为其中的宁波生产大队；1961年4月宋桂人民公社设立后，仍为宁波生产大队。[1][2]1983年设宋桂区公所宁波乡人民政府，1987年改为宋桂镇宁波村民委员会。[1]

1989年此地设为宁波管理区办事处，1999年转回村民委员会体制。[2]

2021年12月，宁波村获广东省爱卫会颁授「2021年广东省卫生村」荣誉。[1]2023年4月，宁波村列入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单。[1]2019年9月，宁波村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
