茆岭村位于宋桂镇内，村内设有中心小学和卫生院，村中发展有荔枝、火龙果、富硒水稻等特色种植。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

明万历年间，谢氏的仰延公由新兴河头迁居茆岭，黎氏则从封开县迁至横岗；1589年，叶氏自福建珠玑巷迁入。[1]

1958年组建茆岭生产大队；1983年归入茆岭乡；1987年改为茆岭村民委员会；1989年换作茆岭管理区办事处，1999年才又改回村民委员会。[2][3]

2019年10月，茆岭村被收入「2019年广东省卫生村」名单。[1]2022年1月，茆岭村被广东省乡村振兴局认定为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」的创建单位。[1]
