宝珠镇位于广东省云浮市郁南县中部偏北，东、西、北三面与建城镇相接，南面与大方镇相连。[1][2]镇内南高北低，宝珠河自南向北纵贯全境。[2][3]

镇内以农业和林业为主，庞寨黑叶荔枝是其中的主要农产品，宝珠镇因此有「荔乡」之称。[1][3]庞寨黑叶荔枝于2016年12月28日获国家质检部门批准，列为地理标志保护产品。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明、清两代，此地属太平都。[4]民国初期它叫连城乡，其后与建城乡组成建连乡。[1]建国初年以宝珠行政村的名义存在，1953年才更名为宝珠乡，1958年归入东方红人民公社，1961年又从中划出，另建宝珠人民公社。[4]

1949年2月，连城一带群众在中国共产党领导下发动武装起义，此地由此成为郁南县的革命老区之一。[4]1983年（县政府网站）或1984年（博雅地名网）改称宝珠区；1987年成立宝珠乡，1992年由乡改为镇。[1][4][5]县政府网站的历史资料则把宝珠镇列为1993年的镇。[5]

地理环境[edit]

辖区总面积，据百度百科为96.9平方千米，据博雅地名网为约96.5平方千米。[1][2]宝珠河（俗称连城河）全长17.5公里，常年水量丰沛，流经全镇后经罗旁流入西江。[2][3]

镇南的三叉顶海拔859米，大社村一带的金菊顶海拔876米。[2][3]镇域四周山地环绕，中部是一个椭圆形的小盆地，盆中散布小山丘，镇名取其如宝珠聚于盆中的意思。[2]年平均气温约21℃，气候温和，雨量充沛。[1]

人口民族[edit]

百度百科载2017年常住总人口12101人，以汉族为主，另有6个少数民族。[1]博雅地名网于2021年6月依第七次全国人口普查结果载为9000人。[2]

经济[edit]

广东省农业农村厅于2020年8月发布的名单中，宝珠镇凭借荔枝产业上榜「一村一品、一镇一业」专业镇。[2]宝珠镇于2020年2月获「2019年度广东省卫生镇（县城）」称号。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

2025年5月，郁南县文化广电旅游体育局公布「郁南县第二批不可移动文物名录」，其中列入宝珠镇的有两处民居：庞寨村木三村的「木三村黄氏大屋」（清代古建筑）和庞寨村早禾垌村的「早禾垌村钟氏大屋」（民国时期传统民居）。两处均为已调查登记、尚未认定公布的不可移动文物。[6]
