通门社区因居委会驻地设在通门镇政府所在地而得名，位于镇中心。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
社区居民以陈、张、朱、黄、李、冯、陆等姓居多。居民委员会于1952年设立，2001年改称社区居民委员会，2005年首次进行社区居委会选举。当年归郁南县第三区管辖，1955年划入建城区，1957年隶属通门乡。1958年改由东方红与通门两个人民公社管理，1968年归通门人民公社革委会。此后1983年属通门区公所，1987年改归通门乡人民政府，1993年起由通门镇人民政府管辖。[2]
