知备村位于桂圩镇。建村时，驻地后面的屋背山形似一头猪，山嘴像猪鼻，村名初为“猪鼻”；村民嫌其不雅，改取谐音为“知备”，建行政村时沿用。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年划归第一区，称知备行政村；1953年成立知备乡政府，1958年组建知备生产大队，1983年设知备乡。[1]

1987年成为村委会，1989年一度为管理区，1999年复为村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，知备村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
