木林村位于桂圩镇，村名取自建村前此地为原始森林的旧事。据传，驻地古时住着蓝姓人家，因躲避战乱改姓换族，迁入深山密林居住，直到清末才陆续迁回平地建宅。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年木林划归郁南县第一区，称木林行政村；1953年建木林乡，1958年成立木林生产大队；1983年设木林乡人民政府。[1]

1968年归罗顺人民公社革命委员会，1983年并属罗顺区公所，1987年成为村委会，1989年一度为管理区，1999年复为村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，木林村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。2024年3月，木林村被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
