桂连村是从桂圩村划出后组建的行政村，与桂圩村紧密相连，因此取名“桂连”。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时桂连属桂河乡。1953年划入第一区，设桂连乡；1958年称桂连生产大队，此后一度改乡。[1]

1987年成为桂连村委会，1989年一度为管理区，1999年复称村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，桂连村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
