木蔃村在桂圩镇境内，村名中的“蔃”是当地人对树根的俗称。初设乡时，因周围树木的根系多露出地面，遂得此名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时木蔃属桂河乡。1950年隶属郁南县第一区，称木蔃行政村；1953年建木蔃乡，1958年成立木蔃生产大队。[1]

1983年改设木蔃乡人民政府；1987年为村委会，1989年一度为管理区，1999年定名为木蔃村村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，木蔃村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
