桂圩社区位于桂圩镇中心区，前身是1952年设立的居民委员会，2001年才转为社区建制。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区在1952年设居民委员会时隶属郁南县第一区。此后归属几经变化：1955年归桂圩区，1957年属桂圩乡，1958年曾分别归桂河乡、红旗人民公社与桂圩人民公社管辖。[1]

1968年归桂圩人民公社革命委员会，1983年由桂圩区公所管理，1987年转由桂圩镇人民政府管辖。2001年原居民委员会转为社区建制，2005年社区首次举行第一届居委会选举。[1]
