平台村是平台镇下辖的行政村，位于镇中部，总面积3.4平方千米，下辖6个自然村。[1]村名的来历：清代此地设有「平台营汛」，村民先称「马地寨」，后因方言「马」「麻」音近，称「麻地寨」；1928年开设圩市，依地势中间高、四周低、形似台状，定名「平台」。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

建国后，乐、钟、陈等姓从镇内迁入，以莫、卢、陈姓居多。[2]

1950年设立行政村，经乡、大队等建制几次变动，1987年改为村委会，1999年定型为村委会建制。2005年，村委会迁到平台新开发区大桥路旁。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年10月，平台村入选「2019年广东省卫生村」名录。[2]2020年8月，平台村被列入首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村（香蕉）。[2]2020年12月和2021年12月，平台村先后获广东省爱卫会授予「2020年广东省卫生村」「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[2]
