妙门村是平台镇下辖的行政村，平台镇政府网站称其为「郁南革命老区第一村」，并载其诞生了郁南首个党支部和首任县委书记。[1]村名的来历是：村中原有一座庙，民房多建在庙门之前，故称「庙门」，后将「庙」改作「妙」。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

建国初期，此地属郁南县第一区，曾称新河行政村。1957年归平台乡，1960年设妙门生产大队。1983年设妙门乡人民政府，1987年改为村委会，1989年为管理区，1999年又为村委会。[2]

红色史迹[edit]

妙门农会旧址上建有妙门红色教育基地，展馆以五个板块展示县镇村红色历史，板块名分别为「敢为人先」「信念坚定」「忠勇厚义」「星火燎原」「舍己为民」。[3]

妙门练村农会旧址属中华民国时期的近现代史迹，位于妙门村委会练村。[4]

来龙嘴遗址是战国至汉、唐代的古遗址，位于妙门村委会辖区。[4]

村内以沙糖桔、香蕉、无核黄皮、肉鸡为主导产业。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2020年12月，妙门村被广东省爱卫会授予「2020年广东省卫生村」称号。[2]2022年初，妙门村被纳入2021年广东省「乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单。[2]
