石台村是平台镇下辖的行政村。村名的来历是：驻地在石头步与平台之间的一片区域，清代建行政村时，由「石头步」与「平台」各取一字，组成「石台」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村内主要有羽、周、岑、梁、温、苏、谢、聂、邓、冼等姓。[1]

清代此地为十五都七堡下的石台甲，民国时归铜东乡第七堡。建国后，1950年建石台行政村，1958年转为石台生产大队，1983年设乡人民政府，1987年才改为村委会，1999年复称村委会。[1]

文物[edit]

新屋村遗址是汉至唐代的古遗址，位于平台镇石台村委会辖区。[2]

石台村在2019年10月入选「2019年广东省卫生村」名录。[1]
